Surrogacy
Our Family
We are Rudolph (40) and Gordon (44), a happily married, loving couple living in British Columbia, Canada with our very cuddly munchkin kitty, Gadget. As of 2023, we’ve been inseparable for 10 years and have built an amazing life together with prospering careers, wonderful friends, and a warm and loving home.
A Bit About Us
Rudolph is a Financial Controller and is very passionate about financial and investment planning, and personal growth and development. He’s a natural leader and planner and loves to play competitive, strategic online PC games like League of Legends.
Gordon is a Public Servant and is very passionate about computer programming, the latest technology and gadgets, and physical fitness and exercise. He’s kind-hearted, easygoing and a practical DIYer that loves to tinker on projects in the garage to help improve the home.
Together, we love to cook and discover new recipes online, venture about and experience foods from different cultures, and relax back at home while playing co-operative PC games or watching a great show on the TV.
Our Surrogacy Journey
We are looking for that beautiful soul and amazing woman that can help us grow our little family through surrogacy.
“Although I love the attention, I’ve been ‘the baby’ of the family for long enough - I’m ready to help Rudolph and Gordon raise a little baby brother or sister for our loving family.” - Gadget
We’ve been thinking about surrogacy and growing our family for quite some time now. We began really pushing to start our journey in mid-to-late 2019, reading on various agencies and options in North America and joining online forums and social groups supporting other Intended Parents and Surrogates to learn more about their journeys. Though the COVID-19 pandemic somewhat derailed our plans at the time, we’re excited to be finally moving forward again!
We chose surrogacy because we want to experience the entirety of growing our family, having a baby and sharing our lives with children of our very own. As a gay couple, there are limited options available to us for having children of our own, but through surrogacy, this dream is possible and can be made real.
We’ve been really looking forward to this part of the journey for a long time now and can’t wait to be the best dads that we can be. We have so many things we really want to teach our children, and experience with them as they grow up…but we need that special someone to help us make this dream possible.
Why We Want To Be Parents / Why We Would Be Good Parents
Rudolph says, “Gordon treats Gadget as though she’s a little baby, and plays with her all the time, often spoon feeding her water from his hands while she plays in the sink. He’s very disciplined, and always seems to take care of the little details that other people sometimes miss. He’s really good at building things too, and has said so many times in the past that he’d like to teach our kids how to build things so that they can also have that same sense of accomplishment he gets when he creates something.”
Gordon says, “Rudolph has always wanted to have kids. He listens to a lot of podcasts on teaching and raising kids and he’s started a number of small traditions in our family because of how much he wants to have children – like putting together and planning our family recipe book, or creating our own little special family days for things we specifically care about, like Gadget’s birthday. If you take a look around our home, you’ll find a lot of little things he’s picked up over the years with the goal of having children. He’s even been picking up stuff for the baby’s room too.”
Our Surrogacy Journey : Where We Are
We currently have two (2) frozen embryos at our fertility clinic, Olive Fertility, here in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, and we’re ready to proceed as soon as we find a surrogate.
Are You Our Angel?
To best ensure chances of a successful pregnancy, and minimize risks for both our surrogate and baby, several physical qualifications must be met in order to be a (gestational) surrogate. Our fertility clinic, Olive Fertility, has a few specific requirements that a prospective surrogate must meet :
Must have had an uncomplicated pregnancy and delivery (born to term).
Must be a non-smoker under 40 years of age.
Must have a BMI under 35.
Must be healthy.
Some other considerations we are looking for in a surrogate :
Be a non-smoker and live in a smoke-free home.
Be a non-drug user - historical use of cannabis is fine as long as you are willing to abstain throughout the pregnancy.
Be willing to abstain from the consumption of alcohol throughout the pregnancy.
As part of Olive Fertility’s surrogacy selection and screening process, you must also be willing to undergo medical and psychological clearance and assessments.
